LISA JORDAN

Lisa (Walls) Jordan is the baby of six.

“The first song I ever remember hearing on the radio was: Up, Up and Away in My Beautiful Balloon by the 5th Dimension. I was four. I thought the harmonies were amazing and what kid doesn’t like balloons? I gradually learned to sing harmony listening to my mother as she sang along with the Grand Ole Opry.”

As a singer and teenager, Lisa continued to keep a radio nearby. Enamored by the medium, she even dated a radio announcer and her journalism projects always seem to involve live interviews with local radio personalities. She was influenced by Paul Harvey, Casey Kasem, and local announcers she heard on a 50,000 watt FM radio station on the Ohio River.

Lisa’s first radio job resulted from that same FM station. They advertised they were hosting a live, open-mic singing competition. Unknown to anyone, Lisa entered and won in her category. The prize was 100 records and studio time, in a professional recording studio.

Many recording sessions have followed. She has also sang back-up or produced studio demos for others as well.

Lisa married her husband Wayne in 1987, and was working part-time in an attorneys office. Because of that prior contest experience, she was hired as a drive-time announcer at a powerful, clear-channel 1,000 watt AM station.

Since then, she has maintained a full career in radio and the music industry over 30 years in the eastern half of the US, and has been a guest soloist and/or speaker at many events and conferences.

Her work has included: voicing, imaging and programming on national networks, videos, concerts, hosting bus tours, television, and owning and operating her own home recording studio.

“I love my audience and the rapport we have. I have seen radio bring communities together. I am so blessed that I get to make a living at a job that I am passionate about everyday.”

SCOTT YOUNG

Scott is from the “hills of Pennsylvania” but moved to northeast Ohio at an early age. Growing up not too far from Cleveland and loving sports he has always rooted for all the Cleveland teams (Indians, Browns, & Cavaliers) so he has had more than his share of disappointments. He is thankful for the 1964 Browns and the 2016 Cavaliers and will continue to proclaim “wait til next year.”

Scott came to a saving faith in the Lord as a sophomore in high school and within a few years he got a sense that God was leading him into some sort of Christian service. It was a bit of a journey but one that ultimately led to Scott going into Christian radio where he served at WTGN in Lima for 45 years.

Scott has been interested in radio since his younger years when he played music and “jocked” into a small reel to reel tape deck. His first actual radio job was at a Country station in Pennsylvania. He started there in 1974 so 2024 marks 50 years in broadcasting.

Scott & his wife Linda have 2 adult daughters (Sarah and Emily) and 2 grandsons (Brendan & Landon). Scott & Linda have been married for 47 years and she has always been very supportive of his radio ministry.

Scott loves Southern Gospel music and hosted a program called Country Faith for 38 years in the Lima market. It was the number one rated Southern Gospel program for that market for all 38  years. (Of course, it was the only one in the market for all 38 years!) He is excited about serving at WKSG 98.3 The Rock and hopes you will tune in weekday mornings from 7:00-11:00.
